Henshaw Creek Weir Science Camp, July 19-24, 2009
Brenda Dolma went to Kanuti’s Henshaw Creek Weir Science and Culture Camp where she assisted the refuge by teaching classes on water quality and flow. She also helped with teaching the kids to set the nets and bring the nets in, cleaning and smoking fish, fish dissection, journaling, beading, and interacted with and assisted the elders. There were also lessons to help the campers understand that they are the primary users of Kanuti Refuge, and they learned how to read a topographic map and understand the boundaries’ of the Refuge.

Brenda Dolma teaches a lesson at Henshaw Creek.
